If you add Tedds commands to the Quick Access toolbar they will still be there when you next open Tedds for Word.  But if you open plain Word it will attempt to add the commands, not find them and therefore not add them.  When you next open Tedds for Word it will set the Quick Access Toolbar to match the last occurrence, i.e. the plain Word version.

Solution

Any Tedds command can be added to the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) using the following technique:

  1. Open the Word Options dialog, select Popular and make sure Show Developer tab in the Ribbon is checked.
  2. On the Ribbon select the Developer tab..
  3. Click Record Macro.
  4. Enter a meaningful name for your macro and make sure the Store macro in option is set to All Documents (Normal.dotm).
  5. Click the Assign macro to: Button wihch will show the Customize the Quick Access Toolbar dialog
  6. In the list on the left side of the dialog select the name of the macro you just created and then click Add > to add your new macro to the QAT.
  7. You can then use the Modify... button to change the name and icon for the new button if you want to.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Now run the Tedds command(s) you want done when you use your new button on the QAT. When you have finished recording your macro commands select the Developer tab in the Ribbon
  10. Click Stop Recording.
