3D polybeams are not shown correctly

Problem: The geometry of polybeams modeled off-plane (3D) is not shown correctly. Only the polybeam reference line(s) are shown. (Planar polybeams (2D), whose all points are located on the same plane however, are displayed correctly). See picture:

In this example the polybeam end point is 1000 mm above the xy-plane where the rest of the points are located.

Solution: First, close the model. Then open the options.ini file in the model folder using a text editor such as Notepad and search for the option XS_POLYBEAM_ALLOW_3D_POLYBEAMS.
If the option is set as XS_POLYBEAM_ALLOW_3D_POLYBEAMS=FALSE, change it to =TRUE. If the option is not listed in the file, you can add it as a new row: "XS_POLYBEAM_ALLOW_3D_POLYBEAMS=TRUE".

Finally, save the options.ini file and re-open the model.

The off-plane polybeam geometry can now be seen normally:

Note:

Please note that XS_POLYBEAM_ALLOW_3D_POLYBEAMS is a hidden advanced option and it cannot be found and set through the Advanced Options dialog box in the Tekla Structures user interface.
